Officer Irvine and K-9 Kyra

K9 Kyra is a Belgian Malinois and she was born in Mexico in August 2014. She has been with the Placentia Police Department since March 2016. Kyra is trained to find various drugs in cars, buildings and the outdoors. After working with different officers since she joined the Placentia Police Department, Officer Irvine and Kyra was teamed up in 2020 and they currently work Patrol on day shift. Prior to K9 Kyra working with Officer Irvine, she was assigned to the DEA where she found over $8 million in profits from drug sales. She has also located over 400 pounds of drugs throughout her career at the Placentia PD.
